The sun sets over a maze of little canals and bridges in Zhujiajiao, a cute little water town just a 90 minute metro trip from Shanghai!
Go there around sunset to see the sky turn orange above the canals, it’s just marvelous.
And try some of the local snacks. I dare you!
Wander in the little streets and cross one of the 36 bridges.
Check out one of the many sights like Fangsheng Bridge, Kezhi Garden and the Yuanjin Buddhist Temple.
There is always some time left for shopping or sipping tea.
How to get there?
You can take line 17 to Zhujiajiao station. From Shanghai you can connect to line 17 via Hongqiao Railway Station which connects to line 2 and 10. Just use the MetroMan app iphone / android to find your way. Below an example on how to get to Zhujiajiao from Jing’an Temple.
It will take you about an hour and 20 minutes to reach Zhujiajiao and then you have to walk 15 minutes from the station to the watertown. Just follow the arrows and the other tourist 😉
Enjoy your day out in this lovely water town and let me know how you liked it!
nice photos!
