One of the things I love about Shanghai is the number of creative coffee spots in town.
I had my fair part of interesting drinks around the world like a coffee covered with gold in Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
But Shanghai seems to be a playground for wakey juice! Drinking gold was nice but being able to print a photo on your coffee? I actually did not believe it was possible or that it would just be on edible paper. But after visiting Cafe Fay know that it really is possible and the result is freaking good!
You probably heard about latte art. Well in Cafe Fay in Shanghai you can get something else than carefully pored milky hearts and cloudy formations on your coffee. Here you can get selfie coffee!
How do you print a photo on coffee?
First of all you need to send a cool photo to the owner of the cafe on Wechat. From here a printer with food colorant cardridges will do the rest of the magic. I was really impressed when I saw the Ginger Around The World logo slowly appearing on the foamy top of my tiramisu latte.
I know it’s hard to believe so I filmed everything 😉
How much does a selfie coffee cost?
I paid 53 rmb for a tiramisu latte. It ain’t cheap but hey how cool is printing on coffee?
