Wanderlust In The Middle East – Roadtrip to Jebel Jais

This weekend I got a last minute invitation to explore the highest mountain in the UAE: Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah. My friends know I can’t say no to last minute adventures so we grabbed some food, a blanket, a tent for the shade and a lot of water (we are still in the desert remember).

It took us about 2 hours to drive from Dubai Mall to the end of the road where we climbed the last 100 meters and enjoyed a picnic with a view that reminded me a little bit of the Grand Canyon.

Some quick facts:

  • 1910 m
  • coldest temperature: -3 degrees
  • there has been snow in 2015
  • in Ras Al Khaimah
  • close to the border with Oman
  • there are washrooms at the top!

If you need a micro break than add this trip to your list and let me know if you enjoyed it 🙂
