If your winter is cold then checkout Harbin in China. With a cozy -25 degrees 😮 it’s the perfect weather for the impressive ice sculpture festival.
Currently living in Dubai, I am not really used to this kind of cold where your snot freezes. The icy weather frightened me so much that I did some last minute shopping a Uniqlo in Shanghai the day before. Their heat tech stuff did protect me pretty well I have to say. My iPhone on the other hand was not happy and died within 10 minutes. Luckily I also brought my canon G7X to make the short movie above 😉
But how can you warm up after walking around like an eskimo on that ice festival? No worries, step inside and remove the “-” sign from the outside temperature and even add a few degrees more! The huge temperature differences were challenging to deal with at times. In the taxi from the airport it was a whopping 32 degrees. And I even cheered when I got the temperature of my hotel room down to 27 degrees after opening the window and using a humidifier 🙂
Although I didn’t complain much about feeling too hot when I was waiting outside on the stairs to board the aircraft the day after.
Visiting Harbin in winter is quite an experience if you live in a warmer country. It’s a bit the opposite of what I am used to in Dubai with up to 50 degrees in summer outside while some buildings are cooled to 18 degrees inside.
Oh by the way did you know Harbin has a population of 10.6 million? That surprises me every time in China, cites I have never heard of and most of them have a population equal to or larger than Belgium.
Do you think If we throw any liquid outdoor in -25 degree, the liquid will become frozen ?
@Fhy I heard the locals do throw liquid in the air that freezes for their yearly new years selfie! 🙂
