I only just had my first experience with an onboard lounge so I am excited to try Emirates upgraded version on their A380 in July.
It’s currently being installed and from July 2017 you should able to enjoy it on at least one of the 93 A380’s currently in service.
Some of the cool features
- more seating space
- comfortably accommodate 26 guests, including 8 seated
- soundproof curtains
- 55 inch TV, live TV will be possible
- new window blinds with integrated LED mood lighting
- subwoofers for surround sound
- additional soft ambient lighting options
Like the current one, the lounge can be found on the upper deck and is accessible by Business and First Class guests. All info and images can be found on the Emirates Media centre.
Once I find out which Emirates A380 route(s) will have this upgraded lounge in July I will let you know 😉
It’s an interesting time, I just flew Qatar A380 First class and was very impressed with their lounge. In April and June I will be flying Business Class with Malaysian Airlines but operated by Emirates between Kuala Lumpur and Dubai and it should be on an A380. That will give me a chance to try the current lounge and hopefully I can find another deal in July and write a blog post at 33.000 feet in the new Emirates lounge.
