Liyer House, Ubud, Bali
I only found out after I arrived at Liyer House but this is where the medicine man from the movie Eat Pray Love lives. Forget 5 star luxury for a couple of days and experience a traditional Balinese house. The rooms are very basic (keep in mind only 26 USD) but the surroundings and the hotel domain are very beautiful. Take some time to relax in the pool with a view on the rice terraces.
Breakfast is served in one of the wooden huts and you will probably stick around and enjoy the peaceful surroundings for a while. Bali is all about escaping the daily rush and Liyer House is a nice place to do that.
