Not just another guide to Bangkok

The glorious capital of Thailand. Whether you are here for a stopover or for a week, there is an overload of cool stuff for your bucket list in this city.

Walk on glass plate above the city

Head to the King Power MahaNakhon building. It looks like a twisted Lego building with some missing pieces so it’s not that hard to spot. Make sure to get the most expensive ticket that includes the glass floor platform 314 meters above the city.

330 meters above Bangkok!

You will get some shoe covers before walking on the transparent platform and you can’t carry phones or cameras. I guess they don’t want people to drop their gadgets and cause some scratches (or worse). But no worries, your fiends can still take epic pictures of you from the sideline.

A night market heaven for foodies

Street food, I am always a bit careful when going totally crazy with it but at this night market I had some amazing foodgasms. My advice: go with a local to get the most out of your foodie adventures. Nothing beats having a cold beer with a local, holding a massive pork bone, still dripping from the chilly soup it was boiled in.

On the way to the market we also passed by a little Thai pancake stall with “Kanom Tokyo”. Kanom means dessert in Thai. We asked a mix of sausage and pandan as filling! This stuff is so good, a perfect appetizer or dessert, whatever suits you best 😀

Red Sky, a Fancy Rooftop

I have a thing for heigh buildings so sipping a cocktail on a rooftop is always on my list. In Bangkok Red Sky is one of my favorites. They have the Red Sky Restaurant and bar and the CRU champagne bar at the highest level. The drinks are pricey but the dazzling views of Bangkok city, especially during sunset are worth it.

Price: a beer is around 300 THB = 10 USD,
a glass of champagne 800 THB = 25 USD,
Take advantage of happy hour 4- 6 😉

Wonderful zen Raindrop dessert

Hands down the most unique and cool dessert I had. Probably because I like Japanese minimalism but look at this presentation!

Try a toast with Pandan

Pandan is a green leaf with a candy/bubblegum flavor similar to vanilla.
Head to Mont Momsod and order a Pandan toast. It’s toasted sweat bread toast topped with Pandan spread. A perfect snack if you are low on energy.

Price: It won’t break the bank 25 THB = 1 USD

Topping overload shaved Ice Cream

You just landed in Bangkok, what better way to start your journey with a local dessert called Nam Kang Sai. It’s shaved ice with a lot of toppings. The most difficult part is choosing which toppings you would like to have. It’s like being a kid in the candy store allover again 🙂

Price: very cheap, no need to worry 30 THB = 1 USD
Location: Cheng Sim Ei on google maps (multiple branches)
